Alenka Sottler about her work: I first created the "Peacock", for a book of The World Fairy Tales in 2006. It was one of three vignettes representing this magical bird. Wishing to make my illustrations even grander, I remade the peacock on metal matrix and printed it as a graphic. Thus, the "Peacock" became original etching.
In Buddhism, the peacock is a symbol for enlightened one, whereas in Arabic culture it symbolizes the cosmos.
